The global debut of the 2025 Nissan Patrol has occurred, with the UAE as the stage for this unveiling. While it is a worldwide launch, no region appreciates the Patrol's prestige quite like the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Nissan clearly had this in mind when crafting the latest iteration.

The Patrol Y63 now stands on a completely revamped chassis and boasts an enlarged silhouette. Its exterior dimensions have swelled by 35 mm both in length and breadth.

Up front, the double C-shaped headlamps are paired with a noticeably larger V-motion grille. The vehicle's side profile still evokes its predecessor, the Y62, yet subtle adjustments can be noted. The window between the C-pillar and D-pillar now rises more assertively, and the blacked-out pillars contribute to an illusion of a floating roof. At the rear, vertically oriented taillights harken back to the design language of the older Y61 model.

In keeping with the prior generation, the Y63 Patrol offers two distinct bumper designs—an off-road-focused bumper with an improved approach angle and a more city-oriented bumper. The top-tier variant is also equipped with imposing 22-inch alloy wheels.

The interior, however, witnesses a much more radical transformation. Dominating the dashboard are two expansive 14.3-inch displays—one acting as the instrument cluster, the other as the infotainment hub.

Significantly more soundproofing material has been incorporated between the engine bay and the cabin, contributing to a notably quieter driving experience.

The traditional gear lever has been phased out in favor of sleek, piano-black buttons labeled P, R, N, and D. For the first time ever in a Patrol, paddle shifters have been introduced. Furthermore, the higher-end models now feature massaging seats, another first for Nissan's flagship SUV.

Under the hood, buyers have the option between two freshly developed powerplants. The base engine is a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre V6, generating 316 horsepower and 386 Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency rating of 9.7 km/litre.

For those seeking more power, there's a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 that churns out an impressive 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, offering slightly better fuel efficiency at 10.1 km/litre.

For both engines, there is a 9-speed automatic gearbox available.

The majority of testing for the new Patrol took place in the harsh desert environment of Abu Dhabi, particularly in the unforgiving sands of Liwa, where its capabilities were pushed to the limit.

To cope with the region’s searing heat, the Patrol’s cooling system has been significantly upgraded, ensuring optimal performance even in extreme conditions.

Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Patrol Y63 is expected to start at around USD 70,000 and extend up to USD 103,000. In UAE dirhams, this translates to approximately AED 258,900 to AED 379,900.
